Nigeria: Adodo’s Appointment Highlights Tinubu’s Commitment to Youth Inclusion
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has earned widespread commendation from Nigerians for his transparent and merit-based approach to national appointments, a marked departure from the accusations of nepotism and favoritism that trailed previous administrations.
In a congratulatory statement on the appointment of Amb. Solomon Adodo to the Board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Somi Solar and Electricals Limited, Engr. Samson Okpe, described Tinubu’s leadership as “objectively fair and youth-oriented.”
Since assuming office, President Tinubu has demonstrated a sharp eye for talent and an exceptional ability to appoint individuals based solely on competence and merit — all while upholding the federal character principle, a standard often overlooked by past leaders.
“For the first time in Nigeria’s history, the usual outcry over lopsided appointments, nepotism, and clannishness has significantly diminished,” Okpe noted. “In its place is a wave of widespread jubilation that cuts across social, religious, and political divides.”

Amb. Solomon Adodo, who currently serves as President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), is widely recognized as a dynamic grassroots mobilizer and passionate contributor to national discourse. His non-violent approach to advocacy, alongside his tireless efforts to rally Nigerian youth in support of progressive government policies, even at personal cost, has earned him widespread respect.
“With this appointment, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again affirmed that his administration is inclusive and youth-focused,” Okpe stated. “This government has proven that young people are not just leaders of tomorrow — they are leaders of today, actively occupying key roles in ministries, departments, parastatals, and commissions.”
He added that the appointment of Adodo signals an end to the longstanding tradition of recycling the old political class, making way for competent youth voices in leadership.
“In recognizing the relentless contributions of Amb. Adodo to civil society, youth empowerment, and governance reforms, President Tinubu has sent a strong message: sacrifice, patriotism, and dedication will never go unrewarded,” Okpe declared.
Engr. Okpe urges Nigerian youth to continue partnering with the Tinubu administration, which, according to him, has shown genuine commitment to youth inclusion. He also called on them to resist the influence of opposition figures “desperate for power and relying on blackmail as their tool of choice.”
