Delta, Kaduna Crackdowns: Police Neutralize 7 Kidnappers, Arrest 5 Robbery Suspects, Recover Stolen Vehicles
In a renewed onslaught against criminal elements across the country, the Nigeria Police Force has announced the neutralization of seven suspected kidnappers and the arrest of five alleged armed robbers in separate operations in Delta and Kaduna States.
The coordinated efforts also led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, several rounds of ammunition, and five stolen vehicles.
A statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the successful operations stemmed from credible intelligence and collaborative fieldwork between police operatives and local security networks.
According to the release, on June 4, 2025, officers of the Delta State Police Command, acting alongside vigilantes and anti-cult volunteers, stormed the Abraka Railway axis—an area long plagued by abduction cases. Acting on a tip-off, the operatives engaged suspected kidnappers in a fierce gun battle, which left four suspects neutralized. One AK-47 rifle and thirteen rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the scene.
In a related operation, the Command’s CP-Special Assignment Team intercepted a suspicious shuttle bus near Ewhereni Junction along the Ughelli–Patani Road. The suspects onboard reportedly opened fire on the operatives in an attempt to escape.
