Troops Kill Three Terrorist Leaders in Sokoto Ambush, Recover Weapons

Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA have killed three notorious terrorist leaders during an ambush in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The operation, carried out on July 25 between Mallamawa and Mazau villages in Tsamaye/Mai Lalle District, led to the death of the kingpins identified as Kachalla Nagomma, Gurmu, and Ali Yar Daribiyar.

According to a statement by Captain David Adewusi, Media Information Officer for Operation FANSAN YAMMA, troops also recovered three AK-47 rifles, magazines, and a motorcycle from the scene.

“The criminals and their foot soldiers were reportedly in the area to collect ransom and levies imposed on locals when troops intercepted them,” Adewusi stated.

Residents of Mai Lalle, Tsamaye, Rimaye, and nearby communities have expressed relief following the operation, describing the neutralized terrorists as long-time threats responsible for multiple attacks and extortions.

Operation FANSAN YAMMA said it remains committed to restoring peace across the North West and parts of the North Central region. It urged citizens to continue providing timely and actionable intelligence to support ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
