Rear Admiral Abba Takes Over as MD Admiralty Maritime Services Limited

Rear Admiral Muhsin Yahaya Abba has officially assumed duty as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Admiralty Maritime Services Limited (AMSL), following a formal handing and taking-over ceremony held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the company’s Conference Auditorium in Lagos.

The change of leadership is part of the recent high-level appointments approved by the Chief of the Naval Staff, aimed at repositioning key establishments of the Nigerian Navy for enhanced performance and strategic growth.

Rear Admiral Abba took over from Rear Admiral Daupreye Franklin Matthew, whose tenure was marked by notable improvements in operational efficiency, administrative reforms, and staff welfare.

In his valedictory remarks, Rear Admiral Matthew expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Naval Staff and the AMSL Board for their support during his tenure. He commended the dedication of AMSL personnel and urged them to extend the same level of commitment and cooperation to his successor.

“I am confident that Rear Admiral Abba will consolidate on the achievements recorded and steer AMSL to greater heights,” he said.

In his inaugural address, Rear Admiral Abba thanked Almighty God for a smooth transition and praised his predecessor for his contributions to the growth of the company. He pledged to uphold the core values of discipline, loyalty, and excellence while strengthening operational effectiveness and organizational development.

“I call on all personnel to remain steadfast and committed to our collective vision of sustaining the success and reputation of AMSL,” he said.

The ceremony was attended by senior naval officers, members of the AMSL Board, management staff, and other stakeholders, marking a new chapter in the company’s pursuit of maritime service excellence.
