Army Conducts Medical Outreach in Faskari Community, Katsina
The Nigerian Army has provided free medical services to residents of Faskari community in Katsina State as part of its non-kinetic strategy to support Operation RUWAN KARFE, the ongoing military effort aimed at decimating bandits operating in the area.
The outreach, held recently in Faskari, offered residents access to medical consultations, health education, drug distribution, mosquito nets, and referrals for advanced care. The initiative drew large crowds from Faskari and neighbouring communities, with many beneficiaries expressing gratitude for the gesture.
Speaking during the flag-off, the Commander, Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC), Major General Abubakar Garba Haruna, said the programme underscores the Army’s understanding that national security extends beyond battlefield engagements.

“Security is not only about arms and ammunition, but also about the wellbeing and health of our citizens,” he said. “This outreach is an expression of our commitment to peace, stability and development of the communities we serve.”
Major General Haruna added that a healthy population is key to national development and commended the people of Faskari for their continued support and cooperation with troops deployed in the area. He urged residents to view the Army not only as a fighting force but as partners in nation-building.
In his remarks, the District Head of Faskari Local Government, Alhaji Aminu Tukur Usman, expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for the medical intervention and for the sacrifices of troops in protecting lives and property in the community and across the country. He offered prayers for their success in ongoing operations.
The outreach was conducted under the supervision of the Nigerian Army Training Centre’s public relations unit led by Major Godfrey Anebi Abakpa, Assistant Director Army Public Relations, on 18 November 2025.
