Tincan Island Customs Surpasses 2025 Revenue Target, Rakes in N1.57trn
The Tincan Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has exceeded its 2025 annual revenue target, recording a total collection of over ₦1.569 trillion.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Onyeka, disclosed this during a press briefing held at the Command on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, noting that the figure surpassed the approved revenue target by ₦55.83 billion.
Describing the feat as a major milestone, Comptroller Onyeka said the achievement reflected the discipline, professionalism and collective commitment of officers and men of the Command.
According to him, the revenue growth was the outcome of deliberate reforms, improved operational processes and a strong sense of collective responsibility among personnel.
“This growth did not come by chance. It is the result of deliberate reforms, improved processes and collective responsibility. Our major contributors remain bulk cargoes, general merchandise and the importation of used vehicles, which account for a significant volume of trade through Tincan Island Port,” he said.
The Area Controller stressed that trade facilitation and revenue generation were complementary, explaining that transparent and predictable processes enhanced compliance among port users.

He added that sustained engagement with key stakeholders—including importers, licensed customs agents, terminal operators and shipping companies—played a crucial role in resolving operational challenges, clarifying policies and building mutual trust.
Comptroller Onyeka also noted that enforcement remained a top priority, with intelligence-driven operations and vigilant monitoring leading to significant seizures of prohibited and improperly declared goods.
“Let me state unequivocally that the attainment of our annual revenue target does not in any way signify relaxation of our operational standards or enforcement activities. The Command will not ease its vigilance even for the remaining part of the year,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for his leadership, strategic direction and consistent institutional support, attributing the Command’s success to the Service’s ongoing reform and modernisation agenda.
The CAC further commended stakeholders for their cooperation and improved compliance, while praising officers and men of the Tincan Island Port Command for their dedication and discipline.
Looking ahead, Comptroller Onyeka reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to consolidating its achievements by deepening transparency, blocking revenue leakages, strengthening enforcement mechanisms and contributing effectively to the Federal Government’s broader economic and fiscal objectives.
