Fact Check: Is the Viral Video of Senator Oshiomhole and a South African Adult Content Creator Actually AI‑Generated
Claim: Social media users widely circulated a short video showing a man described as Nigerian Senator Adams Oshiomhole massaging a woman’s feet aboard a private jet. Oshiomhole’s media office publicly claimed that the footage is a “poorly crafted and edited fake AI video,” asserting that it was produced and circulated by “malicious actors” seeking to tarnish his reputation. The statement specifically argued that technical inconsistencies and signs of post-production editing indicate the clip is not authentic.
Background: The video first surfaced online and rapidly became a trending topic across platforms such as X, Instagram and TikTok. Many Nigerians reacted with outrage, questioning the conduct of the senator and using the clip to highlight issues of elite privilege particularly against the backdrop of Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges and renewed criticism over earlier comments attributed to the senator on food prices.
Early online speculation mistakenly identified the woman in the footage as Oshiomhole’s wife, a claim that was subsequently corrected. Journalists and social media discussions have since identified the woman as South African influencer and adult content creator Leshaan Dagama, whose own posts about the clip have since drawn further public attention.

Verification: To assess the validity of the AI-generation claim, PRNigeria’s fact-checking team conducted an in-depth multi-step analysis of the video. A manual review of the full approximately 30-second clip reportedly found no classic hallmarks of AI deepfakes, such as unnatural facial expressions, unnaturally smooth skin, inconsistent blinking, or human limbs behaving in impossible ways. Shadows and lighting appeared consistent with real-world physics, and no visual elements seemed to pass through one another or behave unnaturally as often seen in poorly generated synthetic videos. According to the PRNigeria‘s analysis, features such as realistic movement, lighting fidelity, and absence of stereotypical deepfake “errors” point away from generative manipulation.
Further technical assessment involved using a third-party downloader to extract the full video and analyze its metadata. While the metadata indicated a low bitrate consistent with social media compression, the exposure, ISO, shutter speed and frame rate data were consistent with footage captured by an actual camera, undermining claims of artificial fabrication.
Forensics tools including InVid and other frame-level analysis did not detect Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) artifacts, temporal inconsistencies, synchronization anomalies, or light-shadow mismatches. Tools designed to identify digital watermarks in AI content, including Google’s SynthID system, found no embedded synthetic watermark, implying the video was not created or edited by Google’s AI tools. Additional detectors analysing blinking patterns, eye movements, background features, and motion characteristics reportedly did not flag deepfake indicators.
Independently, the woman identified in the video responded publicly on her social media account, directly countering the senator’s AI claim by stating “Video wasn’t AI but okay believe your Senator.” This comment was widely reported by multiple news outlets, further challenging the assertion that the footage was fabricated by artificial intelligence.
Conclusion: The evidence assembled by PRNigeria’s fact-check team indicates that the video lacks the common visual and technical markers of AI-generated deepfakes. Metadata and forensic analyses did not reveal signs of digital synthesis or manipulation typical of AI-fabricated content. Independent responses from the woman featured in the clip further undermine the claim that the footage is artificially generated.
Verdict: The assertion that the video of Senator Adams Oshiomhole massaging a woman’s feet aboard a private jet is AI-generated is MISLEADING.
