Troops Foil Terrorists Ambush, Recover Bicycles Along Marte–Dikwa Axis
Troops of the Nigerian Army under the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, have successfully repelled suspected terrorists during an ambush operation along the Marte–Dikwa axis of Borno State.
Security sources disclosed that the encounter occurred late on March 13 when troops of the 50 Task Force Battalion, operating under the 24 Task Force Brigade, in collaboration with personnel of the 134 Special Forces Battalion and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), laid an ambush along the main supply route linking Marte and Dikwa.

According to the sources, the troops made contact with a group of terrorists travelling on bicycles at about 10:15 p.m.
The troops immediately engaged the insurgents in a firefight, forcing them to retreat into nearby bushes.
Subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of the body of one suspected terrorist, four bicycles and other items believed to have been abandoned by the fleeing insurgents.
Security sources said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts by troops of Operation Hadin Kai to disrupt terrorist movements and logistics routes across the North-East theatre of operations.
