Troops Bust Terrorists’ Hideouts, Rescue Kidnapped Victims in Kogi, Kaduna, Sokoto
Troops of the Nigerian Army have intensified operations across the North-Central and North-West, disrupting terrorist networks, arresting suspects, and rescuing kidnapped victims in coordinated raids in Kogi, Kaduna and Sokoto states.
The operations, conducted within the last 24 hours, highlight sustained offensive actions backed by intelligence and inter-agency collaboration.
In Kogi State, troops of 12 Brigade, working with police operatives and local vigilantes, raided suspected hideouts in Kakuma Ileteju/Origa and Ijumu villages, arresting two suspected terrorists. Items recovered include two motorcycles and chainsaw machines believed to aid criminal operations.

In Kaduna, troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA arrested a suspected terrorist at Afaka. Military sources said the suspect confessed to fleeing a terrorist camp following internal clashes among members, offering fresh intelligence to ongoing operations.
In Sokoto State, troops of the COAS Intervention Battalion VII, supported by 8 Division elements, cleared several villages in Tangaza Local Government Area, destroying a terrorist camp and recovering camouflage items. The troops also rescued a Nigerien national who had been held captive for over three weeks.
Security sources noted that the operations were intelligence-driven and executed with precision, sustaining pressure on criminal elements while limiting collateral damage.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its resolve to combat terrorism, banditry and kidnapping, urging citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information.
