Troops Raid Terrorist Camps, Recover Arms, Motorcycles in Kebbi
Troops of 8 Division operating under Operation FANSAN YANMA have overrun suspected terrorist hideouts during a clearance operation in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State, recovering arms and motorcycles used by the criminal elements.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was conducted at about 4:00 a.m. on May 20 following credible intelligence on terrorist activities within the area.
The troops reportedly advanced on suspected terrorist enclaves located around Shadadi village, where they came under attack, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.
Supported by drone surveillance, the troops successfully overpowered the terrorists and overran their positions after intense engagement.

During the operation, security forces recovered one magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition and three motorcycles believed to have been used by the fleeing terrorists.
Several life-support structures and logistics facilities used by the criminal elements within the enclave were also destroyed during the offensive operation.
Military sources said one soldier sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter and was immediately stabilised before being evacuated for further medical treatment.
The operation forms part of ongoing offensives aimed at dismantling terrorist and bandit networks operating across parts of the North-West region.
Security sources added that troops have continued aggressive clearance operations and domination patrols to deny criminal groups freedom of movement and operational space within the region.
