Troops Arrest Teenage Terror Suspect, ISWAP Collaborator in Borno
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected teenage terrorist and an alleged Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborator in separate operations conducted in Borno State.
Security sources disclosed that troops of the 149 Battalion, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), apprehended a 15-year-old suspect identified as Umar Zacharria in Gubio town on May 14 at about 1:20 p.m.
According to the sources, preliminary investigation revealed that the teenager, who hails from Jere Local Government Area, allegedly confessed to being among terrorists involved in attacks and harassment of motorists along the Kareto general area.

In a separate operation, troops of the 196 Amphibious Battalion arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborator during a routine security check at the C Company 7 Platoon checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area.
The suspect, identified as Mrs Kellu Alhaji Abba, 50, a Kanuri woman resident in the Lawanti area of Baga town, was apprehended at about 8:00 a.m. on May 20 while allegedly conveying supplies to her son, Modu Mustapha, who is suspected to be a terrorist operating within the Dumba axis.
Items reportedly recovered from the suspect included four ready-to-use supplementary food packs, two hijabs and one wristwatch.
Military authorities said both suspects are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The sources added that although the security situation across the theatre remains calm, it is still unpredictable, while troops continue to maintain satisfactory morale and operational efficiency.
