BUK Alumni FCT Chapter Celebrates Unity at Aerobics, Games Day
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter of the Bayero University Kano Alumni Association (BUKAA) has celebrated the success of its Aerobics and Games Day, describing the event as a vibrant gathering that strengthened friendship, healthy living and intergenerational bonds among members.
The chapter’s Chairman, Alhassan Mohammed, expressed appreciation to members for their enthusiastic participation, saying the event demonstrated the association’s commitment to unity, networking and wellness.
In a statement issued after the programme, Mohammed commended members of the association for turning out in large numbers, noting that the event brought together alumni from different generations, including elders, Generation X, Millennials, Generation Z and Generation Alpha.
According to him, the gathering provided an opportunity for members to reconnect, exercise together, build professional networks and reinforce the enduring spirit of the Bayero University alumni community.
The chairman also praised the organising committee, led by the chapter’s Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Umar Aliyu, for successfully coordinating what he described as an engaging and memorable event.

He said the committee’s dedication and hard work contributed significantly to the success of the programme.
A major highlight of the event was a friendly football match between the BUK New Site Team and the BUK Old Site Team, which ended in an entertaining 1-1 draw.
Mohammed said although neither side emerged victorious, the match showcased sportsmanship, friendship and camaraderie, adding that “the real victory was the spirit of unity displayed throughout the game.”
He also acknowledged the support of members of the chapter’s Executive Committee for their contributions to the planning and successful execution of the event.
The BUKAA FCT chairman paid special tribute to respected alumni and elder statespersons, including renowned strategic communication expert Yushau Shuaib and Hajiya Zainab Muhammad Yakasai, whose presence and words of encouragement, he said, enriched the occasion.
Describing the gathering as memorable, Mohammed said it featured moments of laughter, healthy competition, networking and renewed friendships.
He reaffirmed the chapter’s commitment to fostering stronger ties among alumni, stressing that the association remains “more than an alumni body; we are one family.”
He also thanked all participants for contributing to the success of the event and urged members to sustain the momentum by actively participating in future chapter activities.
