Nigeria Advances Smart Transport Databank With Egypt Partnership
The implementation of Nigeria’s Smart National Transport Databank Project has advanced following a working visit to Cairo by the Federal Road Safety Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajuddeen.
This was contained in statement signed by Deputy Corps Commander Osondu Ohaeri, the Corps Public Education Officer, on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the visit followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) and Asia Arab Investment (AAI) in June 2026.
Speaking on the initiative, Corps Marshal Shehu described the databank as a transformative national asset capable of redefining road safety management in Nigeria.
“Access to integrated transport data will strengthen our operational capacity by improving crash prediction, traffic management, compliance monitoring, and overall service delivery,” he said.
He emphasised that the project reflects the future of transport governance in Nigeria.

On his part, the Speaker Abbas Tajuddeen, reaffirmed legislative backing for the initiative.
His words, “The National Assembly stands ready to provide the necessary support for successful implementation. This project is vital to Nigeria’s economic growth, digital transformation, and infrastructure development.”
