Gummi Residents Applaud Troops Over Recovered Bandits’ Motorcycles
Residents of Gummi town in Zamfara State on Thursday lined the streets to cheer troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA as eight motorcycles recovered from armed bandits were transported to the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force during a public display of the military’s recent operational gains.
The motorcycles, carried on an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), were recovered during a recent counter-ambush operation in the North-West, in which troops reportedly neutralised more than 100 suspected terrorists and recovered several items from the fleeing criminals.

Eyewitnesses said scores of residents gathered along the route and at the military headquarters to witness the arrival of the motorcycles, applauding the troops and expressing appreciation for their continued efforts in combating banditry and restoring security across Zamfara State.
The crowd was seen chanting words of encouragement and waving at the soldiers as the recovered motorcycles were offloaded, reflecting growing public support for the ongoing military offensive against armed groups operating in the region.
The recovered motorcycles are believed to have been used by the bandits to facilitate attacks and movement across difficult terrains. Their recovery, according to military sources, forms part of efforts to degrade the operational capabilities of criminal groups in the North-West.
The public show of support underscores the increasing cooperation between local communities and security forces as Operation FANSAN YAMMA intensifies operations aimed at dismantling bandit enclaves, restoring peace and improving security across the region.
