Army Warns Public Against Fake SSCC 50/2027 Recruitment Advertisement
The Nigerian Army has disowned a fake recruitment advertisement circulating on social media and other online platforms, warning members of the public against falling victim to fraudsters falsely claiming to recruit candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Army described the advertisement as false, fraudulent and not authorised by the Nigerian Army.
The Army urged prospective applicants and the general public to disregard the fake recruitment notice, stressing that no recruitment exercise is currently being conducted through the channels promoting the advertisement.
It also cautioned Nigerians against applying through, patronising or making payments to any individual, group or website claiming to be conducting recruitment on behalf of the Nigerian Army.

According to the statement, all Nigerian Army recruitment and commissioning exercises are conducted free of charge, with a transparent and merit-based selection process.
The Army explained that official recruitment announcements are published only through national newspapers, its verified social media platforms and other recognised official communication channels. It added that no recruitment forms are sold and no individual or agent is authorised to facilitate enlistment or demand payment at any stage of the recruitment process.
The military further warned those responsible for producing and circulating the fake advertisement to cease their activities, disclosing that security agencies had been activated to identify, arrest and prosecute those involved in the scam.
It stated that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.
Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of its recruitment process, the Nigerian Army advised members of the public to verify all recruitment information through its official communication channels.
It also urged Nigerians to report any suspicious recruitment activities to the nearest military formation or security agency for prompt investigation and necessary action.
