Tinubu commended the parents, teachers and mentors who contributed to the sisters’ development, recognising the discipline, sacrifice and commitment required to attain excellence in Qur’anic scholarship.
He also appreciated the organisers and authorities of Saudi Arabia for providing an international platform that promotes excellence in Qur’anic memorisation, recitation, Tajweed, interpretation and scholarship.
Maryam’s winning category required participants to demonstrate mastery of the entire Holy Qur’an, including memorisation, recitation, Tajweed and interpretation of all 60 Hizb with Tafsir.
The President said her victory demonstrated the excellence, discipline, dedication and intellectual depth of Nigerian youths, while bringing honour to the country.
The achievement further highlights Nigeria’s growing presence in international Qur’anic scholarship and the contributions of young Nigerians to the promotion of religious and intellectual excellence.
