Troops Arrest Terrorist Kingpin, Seize 300 Rounds of Ammunition in Kaduna
Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two members of his syndicate, as well as an ammunition courier and a suspected logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The arrests were carried out on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, during clearance and intelligence-led operations in Kubau, Igabi and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas of the state.
In a statement on Thursday, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, said troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau LGA, in the early hours of Wednesday.
Danja said the operation resulted in the arrest of a suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate at the hideout. He added that the suspects were being held in military custody for further investigation.
In a separate operation the same day, troops acting on credible intelligence about the movement of terrorist ammunition arrested a 50-year-old woman allegedly serving as an ammunition courier in Igabi LGA.

According to the statement, the suspect was found with 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.
Preliminary investigation showed that the woman had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly collected the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
The suspect and the recovered ammunition were subsequently taken into military custody for further investigation.
Later on Wednesday, troops of Sector 1, working with a community vigilante group, also apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari LGA.
The military said four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists were recovered from the suspect during interrogation and a search of his person.
The suspect and the recovered devices were also taken into military custody for further investigation.
The JTF said the operations demonstrated its commitment to disrupting terrorist networks, restricting the freedom of action of criminal elements and preventing the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across its Joint Operations Area.
The task force commended members of the public for their continued support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
