Military Surgical Airstrikes Destroy Terrorist Hubs, Eliminate 18 in Tumbuns
Nigerian military aircraft operating under Operation Hadin Kai have destroyed several terrorist structures and logistics hubs, while neutralising about 18 terrorists in an air interdiction operation at Tumbunma Baba in the Tumbuns general area of Borno State.
The operation was conducted at about 6:05 a.m. on Friday, September 11, following intelligence indicating that a high-profile meeting of terrorist elements was taking place on the islands.
Military sources said the strikes were preceded by confirmatory intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions conducted on September 9, which identified several terrorist structures and logistics facilities within the area.

According to the sources, the aircraft acquired and engaged the identified targets with onboard munitions, destroying several structures and logistics hubs.
The bombardment also resulted in the death of approximately 18 terrorists believed to be operating from the enclave.
The sources assessed the operation as having achieved an estimated 85 per cent success rate, with additional air interdiction missions recommended to consolidate the gains and disrupt surviving terrorist elements in the area.
The operation forms part of sustained military efforts to degrade terrorist networks, dismantle their logistics infrastructure and deny them freedom of movement, coordination and operational space within the Tumbuns.
