Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued two persons abducted by armed bandits along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The troops, while conducting a routine patrol on September 4, 2026, reportedly observed armed bandits attacking two individuals travelling on a motorcycle.

According to a statement on the operation, the troops immediately mobilised and moved to the location, forcing the attackers to flee into the surrounding terrain and abandon their captives.
The rescued victims were subsequently secured by the troops.
Following the incident, security forces have intensified patrols and offensive operations across the general area to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and prevent further attacks on residents and travellers.
The development underscores the continued efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt bandit activities and strengthen security along vulnerable routes in Zamfara State.
