Zamfara: GOC 8 Division Reviews Front-Line Deployments, Boosts Troops’ Combat Readiness
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division, Nigerian Army, and Commander, Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Bemgba Koughna, has inspected forward operating bases across Zamfara State as part of efforts to strengthen troops’ combat readiness and improve ongoing security operations.
The operational tour was aimed at assessing tactical deployments, inspecting defensive infrastructure and reviewing the logistics readiness of troops deployed to front-line locations across the state.

During the visits, Koughna interacted with personnel at the various bases and commended them for their resilience, commitment and sacrifices in the ongoing campaign against terrorists and other criminal networks.
He charged the troops to maintain an aggressive operational posture and sustain the momentum of ongoing operations until security is fully restored across the state.
The GOC also reaffirmed the Division’s commitment to protecting lives and property, assuring residents that the military would continue to intensify efforts to dismantle terrorist enclaves and degrade criminal networks operating in Zamfara.
The inspection forms part of ongoing operational adjustments by the 8 Division and Operation FANSAN YAMMA to enhance troops’ effectiveness and strengthen security across the state.
