The Theatre Commander (TC) Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru has commended the General Officer Commanding 8 Task Force Division, Brigadier General Stevenson Olabanji for his initiative and commitment to the cause of Nigerian Army. He made the commendation in Monguno, while on his maiden operational visit to the Division.
Responding to issues raised during the operational brief, the Theatre Commander thanked the GOC for his initiative in repositioning the division and providing the leadership required to lead officers and men into battle.

“The leadership and initiative you have exhibited by going the extra mile to ensuring the serviceability of all platforms and conditioning your troops for the task ahead are worthy of emulation”. Major General Attahiru assured the GOC that the Theatre Command will provide the division with the required support to sustain the momentum.
Addressing Officers and Soldiers in the Officers Mess and parade ground respectively, Major General Attahiru emphasised the importance of discipline as the bedrock of the military profession and urged officers and soldiers to maintain their current level of discipline. He informed troops that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai is proud of 8 Task Force Division. He reiterated the determination of the COAS to bring the insurgency in the North East to a speedy end. Major General Attahiru also assured troops that their welfare and rotation are topmost in the consideration of Army Headquarters.
As part of activities lined up for the visit, the Theatre Commander inspected facilities at 8 Division Medical Services and Hospital, Operational Vehicles in the division’s holding and also watched a demonstration by the 8 Task Force Division Composite Force.
