Ex-NEMA Boss, Sani-Sidi Declares for Kaduna Governorship
The immediate past Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Muhammad Sani-Sidi, has declared an intention to run for the governorship of Kaduna State in the 2019 general elections.
Sani-Sidi, a close associate of a former Vice President Namadi Sambo, said he would vie for the PDP governorship ticket to pursue this ambition.
He made this known while submitting his Expression of Interest Form at the state secretariat of the PDP in Kaduna.
He said the decision to run for the governorship came from a burning passion to rescue the state from systematic destruction being witnessed under the current administration.
In his remarks, Mr Sidi explained why he threw his hat into the ring.

“I did not just come to contest, but I want to give back to the society. I am fully prepared to take the lead in this process. We are a party that is reputed to have a robust mechanism for resolving internal conflicts following every congress. I know we will do it even better this time around.
“When we do this, we will take back our state from the jaws of misgovernance. When we do this, we will be able to restore the pride and respect of our traditional and religious institutions that have been desecrated by an opportunistic leadership that seeks to destroy our common heritage,” he said.
Mr Sidi also lamented the insecurity bedevilling the state and promised to tackle this if elected.
“We will stop the kidnappings, abductions, armed robbery and the general insecurity which have become the trademark of the present administration. We must save our educational system by training our teachers, provide good healthcare, develop our infrastructure and above all, unite our people,” he said.
He said his vision is to ensure peace and unity and transform Kaduna State. He also said he would ensure entrenchment of party supremacy.
