SDP Denies Alleged Party Officer Idris Inuwa, Labels Him an Impostor
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has disowned one Idris Inuwa, who recently claimed to be the party’s Assistant National Secretary for the North-West Zone, describing him as an impostor.
In a press statement issued on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, the SDP stated that Inuwa is not a recognized member or officer at any level of the party’s structure.
The statement was in response to a purported press briefing held by Inuwa in Kaduna on Thursday, where he presented himself as a zonal official of the SDP.

The party challenged Inuwa to provide proof of his membership, including his party card and a certificate of return confirming his position, if any exists.
The SDP accused Inuwa of being part of a desperate group attempting to undermine the party’s growing public appeal.
“The party is not unaware of the desperate moves of certain camps that are clearly losing out in the current political dynamics,” the statement read.
It further dismissed the incident as part of a “campaign of calumny” against the SDP, which it said remains a credible alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.
The SDP urged the public to disregard Inuwa’s claims, labeling him and his associates as fraudsters.
Efforts to reach Inuwa for comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
