Military Eliminate Bandit in Plateau, Rescue Abducted Victim
Troops of Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A have successfully neutralised a suspected bandit and rescued a kidnapped victim during an ambush operation in Sabon Gari village, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, PRNigeria reports.
According to reliable sources, the operation was conducted around 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, following actionable intelligence on the movement of armed bandits along the Kampani–Zurak–Sabon Gari route.

Acting on the tip-off, troops from Sector 2 under Operation Safe Haven strategically positioned themselves at key crossing points frequently used by the criminals. During the encounter, the troops engaged the bandits in a brief firefight, killing one of them while others fled the scene.
In the aftermath of the operation, the troops combed the surrounding area and successfully rescued a 45-year-old kidnap victim, Mr. Amadu Alhaji Nuhu, a native of Taraba State, who had been held captive by the fleeing gang.
Recovered from the scene were one locally fabricated pistol, a pistol magazine, four rounds of 9mm ammunition, a boxer motorcycle, a pair of shoes, a cap, and a head warmer.
The rescued victim and the recovered items are currently in safe custody. Meanwhile, security forces have intensified efforts to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects.
