Tinubu Approves Redeployment of 16 Perm Secs

Tinubu Approves Redeployment of 16 Perm Secs

 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the redeployment of sixteen serving Permanent Secretaries in a sweeping administrative shake-up aimed at improving efficiency across federal ministries and agencies. The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Didi Esther Walson-Jack.

According to the statement, the redeployment takes effect from November 19, 2025, and all affected officials are expected to complete their handing-over and taking-over processes on or before November 26, 2025. The Head of Service noted that the changes form part of ongoing efforts to reposition the Federal Civil Service for improved service delivery under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Those redeployed include Engr. Funsho Adebiyi, who moves from Works to Transportation, while Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana leaves Aviation and Aerospace Development for the General Services Office under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofarmata has been reassigned from Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction to Aviation and Aerospace Development, just as Mrs. Nko Asanye Esuabana departs Innovation, Science and Technology for the Ministry of Women Affairs.

Others affected are Mr. Richard Pheelanmilo Pheelangwa, who moves from Water Resources and Sanitation to Defence; Mr. Raymond Omenka Omachi from Finance (Special Duties) to Finance, where he will understudy Mrs. Lydia Shehu; and Dr. Deborah Oyindamola Odoh from the Service Policies and Strategies Office to Budget and Economic Planning. Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya leaves Youth Development for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, while Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi is redeployed from Petroleum Resources to the Federal Civil Service Commission.

Also on the list is Mrs. Fatima Sugra Tabi’a Mahmood, who moves from the Career Management Office to the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy to understudy Mr. Olufemi Michael Oloruntola. Dr. Emanso Okop Umobong has been transferred from the Cabinet Affairs Office to Water Resources and Sanitation, while Dr. Maryam Ismaila Keshinro relocates from Women Affairs to Youth Development. Mr. Philip Ndiomu moves from the Federal Civil Service Commission to Innovation, Science and Technology.

Similarly, Engr. Nadungu Gagara has been redeployed from Economic and Political Affairs in the OSGF to the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, just as Mrs. Oyekunle Patience Nwakuso leaves the Service Welfare Office for the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. Mr. Adeladan Rafiu Olarinre rounds off the list as he shifts from Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy to the Ministry of Works.

The Federal Government said the redeployment is intended to strengthen governance structures and ensure that ministries are better aligned with national priorities.
