Troops Dismantle Criminal Hideout, Rescue Hostages in Kaduna
Troops of the Joint Task Force under Operation Enduring Peace have dismantled a criminal hideout in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, neutralising several suspects, rescuing a kidnapped victim, and recovering arms, ammunition and motorcycles.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was conducted on Tuesday following credible intelligence on the activities of criminal elements operating within the area.
During the raid, troops engaged the suspects in a gun battle, leading to the neutralisation of four criminals, while others reportedly fled the scene with suspected gunshot injuries.
Items recovered from the hideout included one locally fabricated rifle, five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and two motorcycles believed to have been used for criminal operations.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the neutralised suspects were members of a criminal syndicate linked to a series of attacks along the Ganawuri–Manchok corridor.
In a related operation, troops swiftly responded to intelligence on the abduction of a young woman, identified as Miss Immaculate Samuel, who was kidnapped on the night of January 13 at Kajim Village, also in Kaura LGA.
The troops pursued the kidnappers, resulting in another exchange of gunfire during which three additional suspects were neutralised, while the victim was rescued unharmed.
The rescued woman was subsequently debriefed and reunited with her family.
Security sources said troops have continued to maintain a strong presence in the area to track down fleeing suspects and ensure the restoration of peace and normalcy in the affected communities.
