Tanker Fire Kills 7 Persons as New Police Boss Resumes in Anambra
It would be recalled that on the 9/2/2019 at about 8:30pm, there was a fire incident caused by Petrol Tanker explosion at Amawbia roundabout Awka in Anambra State.
So far, a total number of Seven Corpses were certified dead at various hospitals by medical Doctors while the only surviving victim was referred to the University Teaching hospital Nnewi and was admitted at the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Consequently, out of the seven Corpses confirmed dead, three are deposited at Amaku General Hospital Morgue, two at Regina Caeli Hospital and another two at Piston Hospital Morgue for postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, Situation was brought under control and obstruction cleared. Investigation is still ongoing.
In another development, the New Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command CP Mustapha Dandaura officially assumed duty as the 27TH Commissioner of Police in the State.

The CP observed a Sentry Guard mounted in his honour at the quater guard and went to his office where he addressed the PRESS.
In his maiden address, the CP assures Ndi Anambra of his readiness to tackle the menace of cultism, extortion and ensure hitch free and credible elections in the State.
The CP also addressed Senior Police officers comprising HODS/DPOS in the Command and warned them to be professional in discharging their duties and ensure effective supervision of their subordinates.
Consequently , the CP headed straight to the Scene of Tanker explosion which claimed several lives at Amawbia roundabout few days ago and commiserate with Ndi Anambra over the loss of lives and properties due to the fire incident.
Meanwhile , the CP also paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano at the Governor’s Lodge.
Finally, the CP retire to his office and continue with the business of the day.
