AANI noted that Olukolade, a member of Senior Executive Course 33 (2011) of the National Institute, played a pivotal role as Director of Defence Information during a critical phase of Nigeria’s counter-insurgency campaign against Boko Haram. In that capacity, he served as the principal spokesperson for the Armed Forces, shaping public communication and strengthening confidence in military operations at a challenging period in the nation’s security history.
The association further highlighted his continued contributions to national development following his retirement from active service. Olukolade currently chairs the Centre for Crisis Communication, where he provides leadership and expert insight on crisis management and national security issues.
According to AANI, the retired general has remained a consistent voice on matters of troop morale, welfare of families of fallen soldiers, and the need for responsible and accurate information management during conflict situations.
The association commended his enduring service to the nation, both in and out of uniform, and prayed for his continued good health and sustained relevance in national discourse.
The statement was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of AANI, Engr. Ifeanyi Jude Ngama.
