Police Raid Black Spots in Delta, Arrest 270, Seize Illicit Drugs
The Delta State Police Command has arrested over 270 suspects and recovered large quantities of illicit drugs following coordinated raids on criminal hideouts across parts of the state.
The operations, carried out between March 25 and 26, 2026, targeted identified black spots in Warri, Uvwie, Jeddo, and Ughelli, as part of intensified efforts to dismantle criminal networks and curb drug-related activities.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright, the raids were intelligence-driven and executed by operatives led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, alongside tactical units including the Buffalo Team, Crack Squad, and Rapid Response Squad.
He said the first phase of the operation covered Warri South, Uvwie, and Okpe Local Government Areas, where 59 suspects—comprising 51 males and eight females—were arrested at various criminal hideouts, including a notorious bush bar.
“Most of the locations raided, particularly some hotels, were found to be operating as brothels and safe havens for criminal elements. Some suspected cultists on the Command’s watch list were also apprehended,” the statement said.
