Audi Equips NSCDC Commands, Unveils Digital Transformation Roadmap
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, has unveiled a comprehensive five-year strategic roadmap aimed at repositioning the Corps for enhanced operational effectiveness, professionalism, and technology-driven security delivery.
The roadmap was presented during a high-level strategic meeting with senior officers at the commencement of his second tenure, outlining a renewed institutional direction focused on innovation, discipline, and improved service delivery.
Reviewing his first tenure, the Commandant General highlighted key initiatives introduced to expand the operational reach and inclusivity of the Corps. These include the establishment of the Female Strike Force, the Safe School Initiative, the Mining Marshal unit, and the Special Intelligence Squad, all of which, he said, have strengthened the Corps’ engagement in critical security domains nationwide.
He also noted that sustained attention to staff welfare, training, and career development reforms had contributed to improved morale and enhanced organisational structure within the Corps.

Looking ahead, Professor Audi emphasised the need for deeper integration of technology into operations, stating that evolving security threats require intelligence-led, data-driven, and more adaptive responses. He added that technological adoption would improve efficiency while reducing operational risks to personnel.
As part of the rollout of the new strategic direction, the Commandant General distributed operational uniforms, surveillance tools, and modern technological equipment to Commands across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. He said the gesture was intended to strengthen operational readiness and promote a more professional and coordinated national response framework.
Professor Audi expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for his confidence in his leadership through reappointment, as well as for sustained support toward the modernisation of the Corps.
He reaffirmed that the second phase of his administration would prioritise professionalism, discipline, accountability, and institutional integrity, while strengthening public trust in the NSCDC’s mandate to protect critical national assets and infrastructure.
The initiative signals a renewed institutional push to transform the NSCDC into a more technology-enabled, disciplined, and forward-operating security agency capable of responding to Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
