Nigerian troops have recorded fresh operational gains in the fight against terrorism and criminal networks, intercepting suspected logistics supplies for insurgents in Borno State and arresting a gunrunner with ammunition in Kaduna State.
In Borno, troops of rOperation Hadin Kai intercepted a vehicle suspected to be conveying logistics to Boko Haram elements along the Maiduguri–Mafa road. The operation was carried out by personnel of the 195 Battalion (Mechanised) during a routine stop-and-check at a military checkpoint.
Security sources disclosed that a thorough search of the vehicle, bearing registration number GZA 359 XA, led to the discovery of several concealed items, including cartons of assorted medical drugs, motorcycle tubes, and new motorcycle tyres hidden in sacks.
Other items recovered from the vehicle included mosquito nets, rolls of mats, cartons of air brake cylinders for heavy-duty trucks, and cartons of detergent.
