Troops Arrest Terrorists in Adamawa, Destroy Enclave in Zamfara
Nigerian military operations in Adamawa and Zamfara states have led to the arrest of several suspected terrorist elements, including an alleged medical facilitator, as security forces intensify efforts to disrupt insurgent networks and logistics.
In Adamawa State, troops of the 232 Battalion (Tactical) carried out a coordinated cordon-and-search operation in Mubi North Local Government Area, targeting Worubude and Yelwa communities. The operation, conducted at about 12:15 a.m. on April 6, 2026, with support from local professional hunters, resulted in the arrest of suspects believed to be linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS).
Security sources confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody undergoing further investigation, while follow-up operations continue to sustain pressure on terrorist elements and prevent their regrouping in the area.

In a separate operation in Zamfara State, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma arrested a suspected terrorist medical practitioner during a raid in Bilbis community, Tsafe Local Government Area.
The operation, carried out at about 5:00 a.m. on the same day, followed credible intelligence indicating that the suspect was operating a facility allegedly used to provide medical support to terrorist groups. Troops from the Headquarters Operation Fansan Yamma Monitoring and Surveillance Team, in collaboration with the 1 Brigade Quick Response Force, stormed the location and apprehended the suspect, who was operating from a residence combined with a chemist shop.
Further exploitation of the area led to the discovery of a suspected terrorist hideout and a motorcycle, both of which were subsequently destroyed.
Military authorities confirmed that the suspect remains in custody for interrogation, adding that sustained operations are ongoing to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and networks across the affected regions.
