Troops Dismantle Illegal Arms Factory, Recover Five AK-47 Rifles, Nab Suspects in Kebbi
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA have dismantled an illegal arms manufacturing syndicate in Kebbi State, arresting two suspected gun makers and recovering five locally fabricated AK-47 rifles in a major operation targeting the supply chain of terrorist groups.
PRNigeria gathered that the operation, carried out by troops of Sector 2, followed credible intelligence on the activities of the suspects, who allegedly operated from a secluded compound deliberately concealed to avoid detection by security agencies.
Military authorities said the troops conducted a carefully planned raid on the facility, where they recovered five locally fabricated AK-47 rifles believed to have been produced for criminal and terrorist elements operating within the North-West.
The suspects, identified as members of an arms manufacturing and supply network, were taken into military custody and are undergoing preliminary interrogation.
