Troops, Police Arrest 42 Suspected Kidnappers in Nasarawa
Troops of Sector 2, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and local vigilantes, have arrested 42 suspected kidnappers during a coordinated security operation in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The operation was launched at about 9:45 a.m. on July 11 following credible reports of kidnapping activities in Nunku, Dundu, Takpir and Akka communities.

Security sources said the joint security team swiftly mobilised to the affected areas, where they conducted clearance and cordon-and-search operations that led to the arrest of the 42 suspects.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Andaha Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Security authorities described the operation as part of sustained efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks, enhance public safety and strengthen security across Nasarawa State and adjoining communities.
They reaffirmed the commitment of security agencies to maintaining pressure on criminal elements through intelligence-driven operations aimed at curbing kidnapping and other violent crimes in the region.
