Four Terrorists Killed as Troops Repel ISWAP Infiltration in Borno
Troops of the 81 Division Task Force Battalion, operating under Operation HADIN KAI, have foiled an attempted infiltration by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State, killing four insurgents and recovering four AK-47 rifles.
The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on Thursday when troops deployed at Check Point 4 of Alpha Company observed suspected ISWAP fighters crawling towards their defensive position from the Gulumba Gana axis.
Sources said the troops immediately engaged the terrorists with gunfire, forcing them to abandon their advance and retreat from the area.

Following the encounter, the troops conducted an exploitation operation at about 6:00 a.m., during which they recovered the bodies of four terrorists and four AK-47 rifles.
Traces of blood were also reportedly found along the route taken by the fleeing insurgents, indicating that additional terrorists may have sustained gunshot wounds during the engagement.
No casualties were recorded among the troops.
The soldiers returned to their base at about 6:53 a.m. after completing the operation.
The military assessed the general security situation in the area as calm but highly unpredictable, while noting that the troops remained in high spirits and maintained satisfactory fighting efficiency.
