PHOTO: B’Haram Terrorist Surrenders to Troops, Hands Over RPG Launcher, Bomb in Borno
A Boko Haram terrorist has surrendered to troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, in Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, amid sustained military pressure on terrorist groups operating in the region.
The terrorist voluntarily surrendered to troops at about 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, according to a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters JTF North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, Capt. Mohammed Goni.
Preliminary information indicated that the surrendered terrorist had previously operated in the Mandara Mountains axis, an area associated with terrorist activities along the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

During the surrender, troops recovered one rocket-propelled grenade launcher, one RPG bomb and a mobile phone from the terrorist.
The statement said the suspect was undergoing preliminary investigation and profiling in line with established military procedures.
The development, according to the Theatre Command, reflects the impact of sustained military operations on terrorist networks and their diminishing freedom of action across the theatre.
It added that the surrender also underscored the ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to degrade terrorist capabilities and encourage those still bearing arms to abandon terrorism and embrace peace.
The Theatre Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements, denying them freedom of action and creating conditions conducive to lasting peace and stability across the North-East.
