NIPR Mobilises Abuja Hotels for World PR Forum, Emphasises Hospitality
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has called on hotel managers in Abuja to provide quality hospitality and memorable experiences for delegates attending the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), scheduled to hold in Nigeria next month.
The NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, made the call during an engagement with hotel managers at Kaslon Hotel, Garki 2, Abuja, as part of preparations for the global event.
Neliaku said hotel managers would play an important role in shaping delegates’ perceptions of Nigeria, noting that their interactions with visitors could influence the stories they tell about the country after their stay.
He urged them to leave visitors with positive impressions of Nigeria, stressing that the hospitality sector was part of the country’s hosting team.
According to him, the institute recognises Nigeria’s challenges but believes the country’s positive experiences should also be projected.
He said the forum would provide an opportunity to showcase Nigeria’s hospitality and improve how international visitors perceive the country.

Neliaku described the forthcoming forum as a major international gathering that would feature activities including a roundtable of African ministers of information, a Global Youth Public Relations Summit and Africa Day celebrations, among others.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the NIPR FCT Chapter and Chairman of the FCT local organising committee, Stanley Ogadigo, urged stakeholders in the hospitality industry to participate actively in preparations for the forum.
Ogadigo said hotels should combine global standards of service with Nigerian values of acceptance, care, support and love, adding that the country’s hospitality could help present a positive image to international delegates.
He noted that visitors’ experiences would be shaped significantly by how they were received and treated in the hotels where they stayed.
Ogadigo said the forum offered Nigeria an opportunity to retell its story to a global audience, urging hotel operators to contribute to a welcoming environment for delegates.
The 2026 WPRF is expected to bring together public relations professionals and other stakeholders from across the world for discussions and activities on the profession and related issues.
