Troops of the Nigerian Army have destroyed a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Edimogbo Forest, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, recovering 1,000 rounds of ammunition, six motorcycles and other items during an offensive operation.
The operation was conducted by troops of the 21 Battalion Quick Reaction Force (QRF) following credible human intelligence indicating that suspected kidnappers were using the forest as a hideout.
According to the Nigerian Army, the troops swiftly mobilised to the area to locate and apprehend the suspected criminals.
However, upon sighting the advancing soldiers, the suspects reportedly fired a shot to alert other members of the group before fleeing deeper into the forest.
