Kano Police Mourns Death of Criminal Investigation Officer, SP Wakili Mohammed
The Kano State Police Command has announced the death of Superintendent of Police (SP) Wakili S. Mohammed, an officer attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Kano.
Mohammed died on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, following a brief illness. He has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
In a condolence message issued on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, expressed sadness over the officer’s death and extended condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

The commissioner described the deceased as a dedicated, disciplined and professional officer who served the Nigeria Police Force and Kano State with loyalty and distinction.
He said Mohammed’s death was a significant loss to his immediate family, the Kano State Police Command and the police force at large.
The Command prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased, his eternal repose in Aljannatul Firdaus, and the strength for his family, friends and colleagues to bear the loss.
The condolence message was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.
