NIPR Honours Outstanding PR Practitioners, Elects New FCT Excos
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Federal Capital Territory Chapter has presented its 2019 annual awards to two distinguished communicators as it also elected new Executive members to run the affairs of the chapter.
The Managing Director Image Merchants Limited, Publisher of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, Mallam Yushau Shuaib was presented with the award of Outstanding Digital PR Practitioner while an ace broadcast journalist with Channels Television, Mrs. Mauupe Ogun-Yusuf was honoured with the award of Most Outstanding Broadcaster of the year.
The award presentation was held after the institute’s Annual General Meeting, Conference and the election of new officers of the FCT Chapter.

The Director of Public Relations, Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, Hajiya Maryam Sanusi was elected as the new chairperson, becoming the first female to chair the chapter n over twenty-six years of its establishment.
Other elected officers are Mr. Stanley Ogadigo, Vice Chairman; Austin Chijioke, Secretary; Inimfon Etuk, Public Relations Officer; Ayodeji John Adedoyin, Auditor; Assistant Secretary Ahyeno Tanyishi; Financial Secretary, Chiamaka Obi-Okafor, James Odeh as Treasurer and Tope Ojeme as the Provost.
The immediate Past Chairman, Dr. Tayo Hasstrup was elected an ex-officio with two others namely Tahir Mukhtar and Chinwe Ogbuka.
Speaking at the occasion, the National President of the NIPR, Mal. Mukhtar Sirajo commended the outgoing executive members of the Abuja Chapter of the institute for their various accomplishments during their tenure as he tasked the incoming officers to improve on the tempo.
Mukhtar also commended the two awardees, Yushau Shuaib and Modupe Ogun-Yusuf for their exemplary leadership quality and professional competence as communicators of high repute.
The outgone Chairman of NIPR FCT chapter, Dr Tayo Haastrup, thanked everyone for their unwavering support during his tenure as he passed the torch on to the next administration.
