FG pledges Improved Welfare for Police Officers
The Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi has reaffirmed his readiness to ensure the entire staff of the Ministry of Police Affairs contributes their quota to the success of the Ministry and the nation at large through commitment, accountability and hard work, noting that effective service delivery is Key to national development. He made this known in Abuja during his familiarization meeting with the staff of the Ministry recently. Dingyadi stressed that staff welfare and training is central to his style of administration since it aids productivity, but warned ineffective staff of the consequence they tend to face

The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Maurice Nnamdi Mbaeri in his remarks, commended the entire staff of the Ministry for maintaining good conduct despite paucity of fund for appropriate take-off and assured them of a better working condition since year 2020 budget have been approved. Mbaeri said that for the Ministry to record adequate success, the management and staff must be willing to collaborate and work in harmonious manner. He added that the Ministry will institute an Award System for staff who shows diligence and effectiveness in service. Responding to questions from staff of the ministry, he assured them that approval has been giving for staff auditing throughout the 36 states to enable government reduce wastages and fraud
Comrade Basset Edet , representing the Chairman Joint Council Union of the Ministry while delivering his speech, implored the management to carry the staff along so as to keep all abreast. He equally tasked the staff to show professionalism in their respective fields. Bassey emphasized on the need to carry out a complete audit of the staff while acknowledging the fact that the Ministry of Police Affairs has staff in all the 36 states of the federation.
You may recall that the Ministry of Police Affairs was merged with Interior Ministry in 2015. Due to the uprising of insecurity in the country, Mr. President re-established her in August 2019.
The Ministry of Police Affairs is saddled with the responsibility of Supervision and formulation of policies that would ensure efficient, effective and technology driven policing of the country.
