Aregbesola Charges NCoS officers to Maintain sanctity of custodial centres

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has tasked the newly promoted officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to ensure that the sanctity of custodial centres in the country is protected at all cost. The Minister who was represented by the Permanent secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore gave this charge on Wednesday 16th 2021 during the decoration of some officers at the Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau Conference Centre in Abuja.
Aregbesola noted that the elevation should be seen as a call to greater responsibility and haven been found fit in character and experience to earn the promotion, the onus now rests on the beneficiaries to justify the huge expectations.
He called for more dedication and loyalty especially at this trying times of security challenges stressing that the commitment of every personnel is required to overcome the hard times.
The Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa, mni in his remarks, stated that though the exercise is a product of his predecessor, he’s however poised to maintain regular promotion of deserving officers to serve as encouragement for higher productivity. He charged officers to deploy the energy and resources to keep custodial centres inviolable, safe and secure for staff and inmates noting that the Federal Government investment in the Service must be justified by every available means.
It will be recalled that 3,510 officers and men benefitted in the year 2020 promotion exercise across board.
