Pantami Solicits Help for 10,000 Capacity An-Noor Mosque in Abuja
…. Says it will serve as Knowledge, Counselling Centre
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ibrahim Ali Pantami says that a mosque, in Islams, is more than just a place of worship.
According to him, mosques, since time immemorial, serve as centres of learning, child upbringing, uniting Muslims, and even for activities that boost economic development.
Pantami made this known when the progress report of the Al-Noor Mosque Expansion Project was presented to the public in Abuja.

Speaking inside the main hall of the existing mosque, the Communications and Digital Economy Minister, said it is a mistake to narrow the function of a Mosque to just a place for praying.
He disclosed that marriage counseling, Islamic knowledge acquisition, adult education, and several other spiritual and rewarding activities will be held at the new Al-Noor mosque, upon the project’s completion.
PRNigeria reports that a fund-raising ceremony was last year held for the new Al-Noor mosque, expected to accommodate no fewer than 10,000 for the five daily prayers.
The expansion project is expected to be completed by April 2023.
