
1. The Minister of Youth Sports Barr Solomon Dalung on Sunday 30th October 2016, commended the remarkable progress made in areas of deliberate promotion and enhancement of peace in the Plateau especially in Jos township; saying the return of active night life to Jos is a feat that deserves commendation and sustainability.
2. The minister made the remark while giving an address as Special Guest at a Grand Entertainment event tagged “Back to Root Concert”designed to hunt for talents in the entertainment industry which climaxed series of activities marking the 2016 Jos Trade Fair.
3. Dalung who recalled with nostalgia different features of entertainment which earned Jos the nickname“center of hospitality and music” hoped that with the youth firmly resolved to prevent anything that will disrupt the new found peace, trade, commerce and fun life that are gradually bouncing back to Jos and spreading to other parts of the state. He urged them to be advocates of peace and religious co-existent
4. The Minister gave kudos to the organizers and brain behind the idea declaring that posterity will score them high when the history of a new Plateau state devoid of malice, religious bigotry and intolerance is being written and attention paid to the worthy contributions of the youth
5. Dalung also attributed the success in bringing peace back to Plateau State to the commitment by the present administration whose leader President Buhari takes issue of security as the corner stone of his developmental agenda. He therefore enjoined the youth to continue to believe and support the government.
6. The Minister who was excited by the way the enthusiastic youth estimated to be able above a hundred thousand grown-ups displayed their various talents and artistic skills also advised the youth to be focused on sports and talents development; reminding them that fame, honour and high income is today easily attainable by youth; reminding them that the highest paid person in the world at this moment is is a sportsman plying his trade in football.
7. The Minister later gave out cash donations to sixteen finalists from different categories of performance such as dancers, rappers, fighters, acrobats et.c as his own personal contribution to make them aim higher.
8. The grand entertainment/concert was held at the famous Polo Ground Jos from 7p.m till the wee hours of the next day.
