Buhari Launches 5-Year ‘Federal Civil Service Strategy Plan’
President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the ‘Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025’.
Buhari performed the launching after his address at the grand finale of the ‘2022 Nigeria Civil Service Day Celebration’. The event held today at the State House Banquet Hall.
PRNigeria gathered that the Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan was approved by the Federal Executive Council in December, 2021.
Mr. President noted that the federal government would be delighted to have a Civil Service desirous of improving its ability to drive national development through the recommendation of appropriate policies that would enhance the implementation of government programmes.

He assured that FG will spare no effort aimed at improving the competencies of officers in the Civil Service through training and re-training of staff by the system.
Buhari, explained that the Federal Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 is in response to his directive to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to institutionalize ‘Performance Management in the Service’.
“I am confident that the effective Implementation of this plan will take the Service to the next level, which is a professional, merit based and technologically driven civil service,” he said.
In her welcome remarks, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, said that far-reaching efforts are being made in the Nigeria Civil Service to replace the subjective Annual Performance Evaluation Report (APER) with ‘Performance Management System’ (PMS).
