PLSG Inspects School Facilities in Prison

The Executive Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Bar. Simon Bako Lalong inspected the Jos Prison’s School facilities. The Governor who was represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Hon. Wanga Hosea Lemoro, toured the entire school facilities in the Prison, noting areas of possible interventions by the State Government.

The Governor inspected the school library, class rooms, inmates view centre, metal workshop, tailoring workshop and others. He commended the Prison authority for the effort on ground towards developing the capacity of inmates through education and reiterated the commitment of the Plateau State government to collaborate with the service to ensure the effective rehabilitation of the inmates. He further stated that the present administration will intervene in the areas of needs, such as teachings aids, upgrading of the school library, provision of school desk, tools and equipment for the workshops.

While responding, the Controller of Prisons Plateau State Command, Noel Ailewon appreciated the Plateau State Government for their support and commitment towards changing the course of reformative activities in Prisons. He further assured the Government of the service readiness to play her role in ensuring that the inmates are not just reformed but rehabilitated and re-integrated into the society as productive citizens.
