Why Nigeria Should Support Other African Nations – Experts

Nigeria has the capacity to inspire other African nations to attain greatness socio-economically, experts have said.

They spoke at a program on ‘Imagine Nigeria’, organized by the Federal Government and the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, in Abuja.

According to them, the time is due for the Pan-African spirit to be resuscitated, and that Nigeria is well-positioned to champion the course.

One of the speakers, Chris Ngwodu, expressed confidence in the ability of the Nigeria State to help fast-track economic growth for many other countries in Africa.

Ngwodu, the Director General of the Office for Strategic Preparedness and Resilience, meanwhile said Nigeria, as part of the Sahelian countries, must prioritize climate adaptation to alleviate poverty and address food insecurity, in the continent.

“This is because climate change does not recognize any territorial integrity,” he said.

On his part, Dr. Julius Gatune of Dedan Kemathi University of Technology, in Kenya, said that Nigeria has consistently shared requisite ideas and knowledge with many countries in Africa, towards fostering continental peace, security, integration and technological development.

“But it still has to come up with effective strategies and action plans to actualize the vision of a green industrial economy for Africa,” the Kenyan researcher said.
