Students of Mairo Tijjani Girl’s Science and Technical College, Kano yesterday received donations of sanitary items and instructional materials from officials of Kano Electricity Distribution Company Plc (KEDCO).
In a statement by KEDCO’s spokesperson, Mohammed Kandi, it said the effort was part of the company’s array of activities organised to mark the International Women’s Day.

The company’s Head, Organisational Development and Design (OD&D) Mairo Tukura, who led the KEDCO team to the school, expressed optimism that the student were impressive and in tune with the theme of the day “Be Bold for Change”, having spoken with a few of them.
Tukura, who informed that the firm was planning more supports for schools as part of its 2017 strategy on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), advised that the students must work hard and be of good conduct to achieve greater heights in future.
Responding on behalf of other students, Halima Musa who disclosed that she would like to become a doctor in future, however, thanked the KEDCO team for sharing ‘inspirational thoughts’ with them.
In his remarks, the school principal, Ado Kassim expressed his appreciation to KEDCO for choosing support his school out of several girl colleges in the state.
