In the serenity of the hallowed chamber of the Senate, distinguished Senators today received the report of the Conference Committee on the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund Act Cap N288 LFN 2004 Amendment bill 2015. The report which was presented by Senator Wilson Ake was laid on the table and later adopted by the Senators.
The Senate also today received the report of the Conference Committee on the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Board bill 2015. The report which was presented by Senator Smart Adeyemi was laid and adopted by the Senators.
Two bills passed third reading on the floor of the Senate. The bills are the report of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development on the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science Amendment bill presented by Senator Emmanuel Bwacha and the report of the Committee on Establishment and Public Service on the Chartered Institute of Certified Secretaries and Reporters bill presented by Senator Aloysius Etok.
A bill for an Act to Establish the Environmental Managers Registration Council of Nigeria as a body corporate and to empower the Council inter Alia to determine persons, what standard of knowledge and skill to be attained by such persons presented by Senator Ita Enang passed second reading.
A bill for an Act to establish the Chartered Institute of Auctioneers of Nigeria to provide for the control of its membership and to promote the practice of Auctioneers in Nigeria presented by Senator Joshua Lidani also passed second reading.
