AIG Wilfred Eje Obute Died at 59

The Nigeria Police Force regrets to announce the sudden death of one of its most dedicated officers, AIG Wilfred Eje Obute, mni who passed away on 20th March, 2015 after a brief illness.
 
AIG Wilfred Eje Obute until his death was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Armament, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
 
Late AIG Wilfred Eje Obute who hailed from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State was born on the 27th of May, 1956.  He was enlisted into the Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP) on the 18th July, 1980 and had his initial training at the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja, Lagos. He held a Bachelor of Education degree in Zoology and had attended several Professional Courses both at home and abroad. He was an alumnus of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos.
 
He was a versatile and well travelled officer who had served as Commandant, Police College Kaduna and in other different capacities in the Nigeria Police Force. An accomplished Police Officer and a caring family man, he would be remembered by his colleagues and friends within and outside the Force as an excellent and patriotic officer who gave his best to the service of his fatherland.
 
While commiserating with the immediate family and the entire officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, CFR, NPOM, NPM, mni, prayed that the Almighty God grants him eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
